Discovery & Consultation

Every great project starts with listening. We visit your home (or your lot), walk the space together, and learn about your vision, how you live, what frustrates you about the current layout, and what your dream looks like.

During this initial meeting, we'll discuss:

  • Your goals and priorities for the project
  • Preliminary scope and feasibility
  • Budget range and timeline expectations
  • Local requirements (permits, ARB review, zoning)
  • Whether we're the right fit for each other

Design & Pre-Construction

This is where your vision takes shape on paper. We coordinate with architects, engineers, and designers to develop plans that are both beautiful and buildable. Simultaneously, we handle the often-complex permitting process.

What happens in this phase:

  • Architectural plans and engineering (we coordinate with your architect or recommend one)
  • Material selections, visit showrooms together, review samples, finalize choices
  • Detailed project budget with line-item transparency
  • Permit applications and city/county review
  • Architectural Review Board submissions (Hillsborough, Atherton, etc.)
  • Construction schedule and milestone timeline

Duration: 4-16 weeks depending on scope and jurisdiction

Pro tip: Peninsula cities like Hillsborough and Atherton have design review boards that add time. We know these processes inside and out, we'll navigate them so you don't have to.

Construction

This is what we live for. With permits in hand and materials ordered, we break ground. Our job site is organized, respectful of your property and neighbors, and managed with military precision.

What you can expect:

  • Weekly updates, photos, progress reports, and what's coming next
  • Direct communication, you talk to the person running your job, not a call center
  • Clean job site, daily cleanup, dust barriers, neighbor courtesy
  • Quality checkpoints, inspections at every critical stage
  • Budget tracking, real-time visibility into costs, no surprises
  • Change order transparency, if something changes, you know about it before it happens

Duration: Varies by project, kitchen: 8-14 weeks, whole house: 6-12 months, new construction: 12-18 months

Completion & Beyond

The final walkthrough is our favorite day on any project. We go through every room, every detail, together. If something isn't perfect, we fix it, no questions asked.

At completion you receive:

  • Detailed final walkthrough with punch list resolution
  • Written manufacturer warranties on all installed products and systems
  • Maintenance guides for finishes, appliances, and systems
  • Final permit sign-offs and certificate of occupancy (if applicable)
  • A direct line back to us, not a dispatch center, for anything that comes up after we've handed over the keys

We don't disappear when the job is done. If something comes up six months later, you call us. That's how we've built our reputation, one relationship at a time.
