Remodels & Additions

Start with one room. Grow into the whole house.

Most of our longest client relationships began with a single project. A kitchen. A primary bath. A second-story addition. Once you've lived through a project that's run well, the next one is easier, and it's usually bigger.

What We Handle

Anything short of a full teardown.

Structural wall removals, second-story additions, primary suite expansions, full-gut renovations, exterior overhauls. Same in-house team on every project, so the crew that pulled the permit is the crew that hands over the keys.

Whole-house remodels

Interior, exterior, floor plan reconfiguration, structural changes. Often paired with systems upgrades because once the walls are open, the plumbing and electrical should go with them.

Second-story additions

Adding up instead of out when the lot won't allow a footprint expansion. Structural engineering, temporary weather protection, and a schedule that gets your family back into a dry house fast.

Primary suite additions

A proper primary bedroom, walk-in closet, and spa-style bath. Usually built as a bump-out or converted attic/garage space, sequenced so the rest of the house stays livable.

First-floor bump-outs

Extending the kitchen, great room, or family room footprint. Often the highest-return-per-dollar move when the existing layout just needs more room to breathe.

Systems upgrades

Electrical panel upgrades, repipes, HVAC replacement, Title 24 compliance, smart-home integration. Our in-house electrician and plumber make this the quiet backbone of every remodel.

Seismic retrofitting

Foundation bolting, cripple-wall bracing, and soft-story retrofits. Often bundled into a larger remodel so you only pay mobilization once.

Why Westward for Remodels

A remodel lives with you. So do the people who built it.

Remodels are disruptive. You're living in the house, or leaving and coming back, while we tear it up and rebuild it. How the project is run matters as much as what gets built.

In-house trades. Our electrician, plumber, and certified roofers are on our payroll, not subcontractors we book job-by-job. Fewer schedule gaps, fewer handoff defects, one contract.
Weekly updates. Progress reports by text or email, with photos. You always know what's happening on the site and what's next.
Change orders before the work. If scope shifts, we raise it and price it before the work happens. No surprise invoices at the end of the month.
Honest scope. If a simpler version of your project would serve you better, we say so. We'd rather do one honest job than oversell a scope you didn't need.
